Many of the city’s shops and streets will be shut down for Easter this weekend, including malls, grocery stores and liquor stores.
The Eaton Centre will be open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and closed Sunday. Vaughan Mills will be closed Good Friday and Easter Sunday.
But most downtown retailers along Yonge Street from Richmond Street to Grosvenor Street will stay open Good Friday and Easter Sunday.
The annual Good Friday procession of St. Francis of Assisi Church will assemble around 2 p.m. at Grace Street and Mansfield Avenue.
On Easter Sunday, the Beaches “Easter Magic” parade will shut down Queen Street East from Munro Park to Woodbine Avenue from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The parade starts at 2 p.m.
GO Transit and TTC will operate on holiday schedules for Good Friday. Commuters should check schedule times before departing.
