Mountie faces impaired driving charge

RCMP officers have charged one of their own with driving while impaired.

In the early-morning hours of Jan. 31, South Shore Mounties stopped a driver who seemed impaired. She took a breathalyser test.

Const. Kathy Mansley has been charged with having care and control of a motor vehicle while impaired. She was in court for the first time Friday, and will be in Liverpool provincial court again March 24.

Mansley, a Halifax officer, is currently on paid leave.
