About the most fascinating aspect of El Bulli is that the titular Spanish restaurant closes half the year to craft its following seasons’ menu.
In the case of this film however, that’s where the intrigue ends.
As such, this documentary studies the experimental cooks in the kitchen with the intensity of cold oatmeal. Largely colourless chefs and a threadbare narrative leave El Bulli desperately in need of spice.
