Filmmaker Steven Soderbergh reunites with The Limey writer Lem Dobbs to create Haywire — what will surely go down as one of 2012’s best action films (and yes, I know it’s only January). The Ocean’s Eleven director brilliantly cast MMA fighter Gina Carano as a mysterious covert operative that seeks vengeance and truth after she is double-crossed on a job. While the story is simple enough, it’s clearly Carano is performing her own incredible fight scenes, which keeps the kettle boiling in this stylish, entertaining thriller.
