A coming of age tale that doubles as a historical drama, Winter in Wartime is set against the backdrop of Nazi-occupied Holland in the Second World War. Protagonist Michiel (Martijn Lakemeier) wants to join the resistance movement but is too young; he gets his chance to help out when he comes across a downed British pilot. Handsomely photographed, predictably plotted and utterly unremarkable in its examination of life under occupation.
