Liberal MP Scott Brison says Nova Scotia will experience economic ruin unless drastic measures are taken.
“Nova Scotia faces nothing less than economic catastrophe unless we have an adult conversation as citizens of this province,” said the sitting Kings-Hants MP yesterday.
“Everybody needs to recognize the scale of and nature of the challenges facing our province.”
Brison noted the loss of offshore revenues as a major challenge facing the province. Recently, Sable partners decided to cease offshore expansion — which accounted for $450 million in royalties last year.
He suggested a regional energy plan, as well as cutting the number of MLAs in the province, as cost-saving measures.
