He was running for mayor, then he was running in College Ward and now mysterious multi-ward candidate Robert Larter has signed up to run in Kanata-North and he’s just getting started.

Larter ran for mayor in 2006, and despite giving no interviews and making no attempts to promote himself, still won 667 votes.

This time, he said, he plans to register in several other wards before eventually running for mayor again.

“Next is Ward 2. This is a preamble for what’s going to happen in the end,” said Larter. “The grand plan is to be the mayor of Ottawa. I was in the last race, but I (was) just practising then.”

One of the things he would try to do as mayor is cancel the downtown tunnel, he said.
