A hearing in the first-degree murder trial of Ashley Haley and Desmond Maguire was put off until next week. Both are charged in relation to the New Year’s Eve 2007 slaying of Jennifer Horne, a 20-year-old woman from Cole Harbour. A Nova Scotia Supreme Court justice will decide if the June trial will be by judge alone or jury. Also a request for a change of venue has been requested by the defense. The hearing will resume on Monday and the trial is scheduled for June 7.
