One man was killed and another sent to hospital with a gunshot wound to his leg after a Wild West-style dustup at a Vancouver stripclub turned deadly, police said yesterday.
A 30-year-old Richmond man — whom police say is a known gang associate — was shot and killed near a dumpster in the parking lot of the Cecil Hotel Wednesday night.
The murder is Vancouver’s 10th.
Vancouver Const. Tim Fanning said at 10:40 p.m. a brawl between two groups of men erupted in the Cecil’s showroom.
“Fists, chairs, bottles were flying inside the bar” when a gun was fired, Fanning said.
People ran from the club.
The brawl, involving 20 to 30 men, continued in the parking lot. More shots were fired and the Richmond man was killed.
Officers were on the scene in less than one minute, Fanning said, but the man was already dead.
A second man, a 32-year-old gang associate from Surrey, was shot in the leg. He was treated and released from hospital early yesterday morning.
