Thanks to a widespread plea echoed through the  local media, police say Emery Dean Cardinal has turned himself in.

Thanks to a widespread plea echoed through the local media, police say Emery Dean Cardinal has turned himself in.

Cardinal was wanted by homicide detectives on charges of second-degree murder and possession of a weapon in connection to the homicide of Andrew McPherson, on Sept. 7.
City police say they responded to a sudden death at the apartment building at 14908 — 26 Street.

When they arrived, they found McPherson’s body inside the top-level suite.

Cardinal turned himself in to the RCMP detachment in Fort McMurray on Saturday and was arrested without incident.

Earlier this month, Jordan Cordell Steinhauer, 20, was arrested near Lloydminster, and on Tuesday a 17-year-old male was taken into custody. Both face weapons offences and charges of second-degree murder.

Police say Cardinal will be brought back to Edmonton next week.
