FRANCE. Convicted criminal and anatomy-challenged cannibal Nicolas Cocaign appeared in a French court yesterday over charges he suffocated, sliced open and ate his prison cellmate in 2007.
Cocaign, 39, confessed to the crime. He says he intended to cook and consume the heart of then-41-year-old Thierry Baudry — but he took a wrong turn in the chest cavity and ended up feasting on the man’s lung.
“[I was] curious to see what he tasted like,” Cocaign told police. He faces life in prison, but has been receiving psychiatric treatment and says he’s feeling “stable.”
