One of the men convicted in the McDonald’s murders is going back to school, after the National Parole Board granted his request to attend a vocational training program.

The board has approved a new unescorted temporary absence program for Darren Richard Muise, 36, for rehabilitative purposes, to allow him to take professional courses in a vocational program. The specific details of the course Muise will take have been removed from the copy of the decision sent by the parole board to The Cape Breton Post.
