Museum workers back on the job Wednesday

After 86 days on strike, workers from the Canadian Museum of Civilization and the Canadian War Museum are back on the job Wednesday.

On Tuesday morning, the workers voted to accept the tentative settlement negotiated between the Public Service Alliance of Canada and the Canadian Museum of Civilization Monday.

PSAC said the four-year collective agreement includes the guarantee that no indeterminate employee will be laid off as a result of contracting out; new job security provisions; seven new part-time positions to be filled internally based on seniority and current job titles; the possibility of temporary full-time employees becoming indeterminate after 24 months and new clauses for maternity and parental leave.
