How did the Rankin Family start? We played music throughout our childhood, but it wasn’t until 1989 that we made our first recording … When I was growing up, the band was the older siblings in the group and it became the Rankins.
Is it impossible for a group to stay together for the entirety of their careers? It’s very hard to stay together, especially if you’re a family. I think it’s important to have independent projects.
What kind of show will you put on on Nov. 22? It’s an acoustic and vocal show. It’s very refreshing for us. … We tried to pick the more obscure (songs) … and also some songs that people expect at a Rankin concert.
