Months after a woman reported being robbed of thousands of dollars in a busy west-end parking lot, police are calling on the public to help them identify a man who may have information about the crime.

On the morning of July 29, a woman returned to her business at West Edmonton Mall from a bank on 170 Street and 100 Avenue.

When she arrived at the mall, she withdrew more money from another bank.

When she returned to her car, she discovered it had a flat tire.

She said a man appeared and insisted on helping her fix it, though she declined.

When he left, she said she discovered her purse full of thousands in cash had been stolen from inside her car and that her tire had been slashed.

Police are trying to identify a man they believe may have been in the bank with the victim that day.

Investigators are confident he wasn’t the person to offer help with the tire, but he may have valuable information pertaining to the crime.

Anyone who can help identify the man in the above photo is asked to call police at 780-423-4567.
