A man accused of abducting a woman at the Halifax airport
this week has been ordered to undergo a 30-day mental fitness and
criminal responsibility assessment at the East Coast Forensic Hospital.

Ross Nelson Garland of the Halifax area was arrested Thursday evening in Moncton, N.B.

He made a brief court appearance today and was remanded until Oct. 16.

The 50-year-old man has been charged with forcible confinement, robbery and possessing a weapon.

The RCMP and Truro police say they have also found a maroon Chrysler Intrepid owned by the woman in Hilden, N.S.

The
woman says she was forced into her vehicle by a man at the airport
