HALIFAX - Premier Darrell Dexter has set a date for two Nova Scotia byelections.

Voters in Inverness and Antigonish ridings will cast ballots on Oct. 20.

The
seats became vacant when former premier Rodney MacDonald recently
stepped down in Inverness and Angus MacIsaac did the same in Antigonish.

The Conservative resignations leave the party with just eight seats in the 52-seat legislature.

The New Democrats have 31 and the Liberals 11.
