NDP Leader Darrell Dexter stopped in a home in Halifax today to
reiterate his party's platform commitment to provide 1,000 insulation
grants for low to modest income homes.
Dexter says the energy efficiency measure will help families cut their home heating costs by up to 30 per cent.
Dexter says the program along with an NDP promise to remove the
provincial portion of the HST from electrical bills shows his party is
committed to reducing energy costs for consumers while promoting energy

The NDP peg the cost of the program at $1 million.
There is also a promise to provide energy retrofits for schools and community organizations.
