NDP urges citizens’ input for budget

The Alberta New Democratic Party is asking Albertan citizens and community leaders to come forward with their concerns and suggestions for the Alberta budget.

“Something dramatic has to come out of this year’s provincial budget,” NDP Leader Brian Mason said in a release.

“We believe it’s the people of Alberta who have the best sense of what they need to succeed in the coming months, and we want to hear what they have to say.”

The round table on the budget will bring together Albertans for a one-day workshop, where they will be asked to prioritize programs as well as consider “missed opportunities and possible areas of government waste.”

The discussion will take place on Feb. 7 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Mackay Avenue School in Edmonton.

Everyone is welcome to attend, and the NDP intend to incorporate what they hear into their response to the spring budget.
