Customers of Calgary Transit are impressed with the new Third Street SW station.
The platform, which opened Friday, is the fourth to open as part of the Seventh Avenue Refurbishment project.
Calgary Transit passenger Randy Yaschk is glad the platform finally open.
“This is my first time using it, and it’s about time they opened it,” said Yaschk.
Although he believes it took a long time for the platform to open up, he’s still impressed with it.
“I like it a lot, it’s nice and has a lot of open air, it’s good.”
The platform was the most anticipated and busiest in downtown because it’s close to popular commercial and business centres. The station alone gets 16,000 users per day.
The station also features better lighting and improved accessibility to both transit and surrounding buildings.
“I’m happy with this station, especially since now I don’t have to walk all the way to the 6th street platform,” said Myrna Arnold.
