Baseball returns to Ottawa this summer after the City of Ottawa and the Ottawa Stadium Group Ltd. signed a lease agreement for the use of the Ottawa Baseball Stadium.
The OSG is proposing to have an Intercounty Baseball League team in the capital.
Details of the lease agreement include a total of $108,000 for a full-year term from March 15 to March 14, 2011. OSG will also be responsible for stadium operating costs.
“It’s exciting to have professional and semi-professional baseball back in Ottawa,” said Coun. Bob Monette. “I am also thrilled that the community will be able to use the facility this summer, which was my primary goal all along.”
In addition to the league team, the OSG has also proposed community events at the stadium.
