A new program is aiming to make borrowing books in Nova Scotia more convenient.

The Borrow Anywhere, Return Anywhere program, developed by Libraries Nova Scotia and announced by Education Minister Marilyn More yesterday, will give library cardholders access to more than 100 libraries in the province. As the name would imply, books can be borrowed from and returned to any of the participating libraries without the usual fees for out-of-town or off-campus readers.

“Our goal is to provide every Nova Scotian with the information, leisure reading or education resources they desire,” said Trudy Amirault, regional library director of Western Counties Regional Library, in a release yesterday.

“Regardless of location.”
