Calgary ranked 7th in a list of 27 Canadian cities that are best suited for the next generation to live in, according to Next Generation consulting.

The study ranked cities coast to coast on seven core areas: vitality, earning, learning, social capital, cost of lifestyle, ‘after hours’ and ‘around town.’

The information was gathered through resear-ching cities and workplace preferences of people aged 20 to 40 since 1998. Top-ping the list was Victoria, B.C., with Ottawa, Vancouver, Kingston and Halifax rounding out the top five. Toronto placed sixth, while Edmonton placed 10th out of the 27 cities.

Next Generation says the list can help cities and companies figure out where to go to attract next-generation talent, or to identify areas in which a city may want to improve.
