The 12th annual Niagara New Vintage Festival gets underway this Saturday and runs until June 17.
More than 30 Ontario wineries are taking part in the festivities, giving visitors lots of opportunities to try their offerings along with cheese, biscuits and other goodies prepared by a host of chefs.
It costs $30 for a passport to the food and wine festival and $90 for the new vintage grill event on the last weekend. All the facilities are wheelchair accessible.
The wineries taking part comprise about 6,500 hectares of vineyards nestled in the rolling hills between Grimsby and Niagara-on-the-Lake. For more information and for tickets, visit www.niagarawinefestival.com, and for other Ontario festivals, www.ontariotravel.net.
