Nicolas Cage has reportedly run afoul of the tax man to the tune of $6.3 million US, which might explain why a number of his homes, including spots in New Orleans and Hollywood, are on the market, according to the Daily Mail.

The IRS has filed court papers seeking millions from Cage for the 2007 fiscal year, when he starred in four films, including National Treasure: Book of Secrets and Ghost Rider. Cage settled another tax dispute last year by paying nearly $1 million to the IRS.
