First, it was the Rideau Canal Skateway. Now, Mother Nature is playing havoc with Snowflake Kingdom.
Due to unseasonably warm temperatures, the National Capital Commission has closed the Winterlude site at Jacques-Cartier Park until noon on Friday.
This closure is to ensure the safety of the visitors as well as to help minimize damage to the installations on the site, the NCC said Tuesday.
As soon as weather permits, crews will reopen the site.
The National Capital Commission temporarily closed the canal until further notice as of midnight Monday.
The NCC has not limited access to the Crystal Garden at Confederation Park, and the schedule for Ukiuk, the sound and light show, is unchanged.
