A foul smell wafted over shoppers at the greatest indoor show on earth yesterday, after construction crews punctured a gas line in the north end of the West Edmonton Mall while making repairs to the parking lot.
Emergency crews were dispatched to the mall yesterday at 1 p.m. after the line was punctured.
Customers were evacuated, first from Zellers at the north end of the mall, then from the Bay.
EMS were on scene, though no injuries or medical complications were reported as a result of the leak.
Hazmat crews deemed the mall safe for re-entry around 2:30 p.m.
