1. The Combine Eatery

This Southwestern-flare restaurant opened to lots of conversation amongst Toronto’s foodie scene on Monday, and with a California-meets-Canada menu it’s easy to see why. The Combine Eatery, 162 Danforth Ave., serves up amazing dishes like their highly-addictive – seriously, we already want more – fish tacos and crisp lobster fritters. Check out the full review on Notable.ca.

2. Chinese House Closing Dining Doors

July 18th will be the last day to grab a seat in this Toronto mainstay’s vintage dining room. The historic China House – one of our favourite spots since childhood – will be shutting its dining room doors and going to take-out and delivery only to make way for construction of a new condo. This Forest Hill landmark will be relocating soon. Phew!

3. Beaches Jazz Festival July 15-24

Now here’s a way to really soak up some of that good ol’ Toronto culture while checking out one of our gem neighbourhoods. The Beaches Jazz Festival has been making us sway for 23 years now, and this year is no exception. So much more than just a concert experience, the jazz fest has something for everyone. True story.

4. The 2011 Vice Photo Show

If you haven’t heard about Vice Magazine, it’s time for a crash course. Vice is a leading alternative publication – started in Montreal and now based in New York – mixing salacious stories and well-honed dry wit. Don’t miss out on this chance to check out three Vice photo essays, on through July 17th at the Show & Tell Gallery, 1161 Dundas Street West.

5. Fellini:?Spectacular Obsessions

This striking exhibit of iconic director Frederico Fellini’s unique iconography is a must-see showcase that delves into the mind of the man credited with bringing the ideas of “la dolce vita” and “paparazzi” to the world’s attention. The five-time Oscar winner’s work is displayed through more than 400 pieces. Catch it now through September 18th at TIFF Bell Lightbox.

6. Paws Parklife

Leash up your pooch and head down to Trinity Bellwoods Park on Saturday for this Paws for the Cause fundraiser hosted by ET Canada’s Rick Campanelli and Angie Smith. Enjoy the summer sun while pups are pampered and primped, with all funds raised going to this four-legged loving charity. Don’t have a canine companion? Paws Parklife is still a perfect afternoon out with some notable company.
