Six Nova Scotians are headed to Poland for next month’s world sprint canoe-kayak championships.

Dartmouth’s Andrew Russell, Halifax’s Richard Dalton and Waverley’s Jon Pike were named to the men’s canoe team yesterday, while Waverley’s Connor Taras and Windsor’s Ryan Cochrane cracked the men’s kayak roster.

Lake Echo kayaker Genevieve Orton, meanwhile, will be the lone Nova Scotian female at worlds. The event runs Aug. 19 to 22 in Poznan.
