Nova Scotia’s Progressive Conservatives have set an official date for their 2010 leadership convention.
During a weekend meeting in Windsor, party brass selected Oct. 29 and 30, 2010 as the dates for the convention to take place at the Cunard Centre in Halifax.
The Tories leadership post was vacated by former Premier Rodney MacDonald after a decisive NDP victory in last June’s election. The position is now held on an interim basis by Karen Casey.
A Progressive Conservative release issued yesterday said all 52 ridings in Nova Scotia will be represented equally with up to 50 voting delegates. It also stated leadership rules would be available on the party’s website in the coming days.
