Nova Scotia wins draw to send second team to Jubilee

Nova Scotia has doubled its chances of bringing home a second straight Jubilee Trophy in October.

The province has been awarded a second entry at the Canadian senior women’s soccer championship in Saskatoon. The Canadian Soccer Association held a four-province draw on Friday to determine the tournament’s eighth team.

The extra spot became available when P.E.I., New Brunswick and Quebec opted not to travel to the event, leaving it shorthanded with just seven teams. The Nova Scotian runner-up at provincials will have first crack at filling the extra spot.
