It’s decision day for more than 900 Nova Scotia Community College faculty and support staff.
After being briefed on their tentative agreement with the college by the Nova Scotia Teachers Union Tuesday and Wednesday, the 930 staff members in a legal strike position will vote electronically on the new three-year contract today.
The deal was reached late last weekend.
Metro Halifax was first to report Tuesday that the agreement would include a 2.9 per cent salary increase in the first year, along with one per cent increases for the next two years.
The agreement also includes increasing the current salary grid by one per cent retroactive to Sept. 1, 2008, essentially giving the workers a 3.9 per cent increase in the first year.
