City cops have identified the victim of Tuesday’s stabbing in the northwest community of Mount Pleasant.
Police believe 17-year-old murder victim Clifton Cashton Anderson was the target of an intended attack and have interviewed a number of people in relation to the city’s fifth homicide
“Homicide detectives have determined this is not a random attack, this individual has been targeted. While it was not random, it was not drug or gang-related,” spokesman Kevin Brookwell told reporters.
Brookwell said police had a number of people in custody yesterday in relation to the killing and were working at finding out more information.
Investigators don’t know exactly what happened that night but they believe the street where the victim was found at 25 Ave and 5 St NW was the primary crime scene.
