After a brief manhunt Friday, New York City police arrested a man who allegedly tried to pull off a Broadway bank robbery in broad daylight, according to witness reports.

Around 3:30 p.m. the suspect, described as a 5-foot-8 black man, reportedly handed a TD Bank teller a note and was given a dye bag full of what was presumed to be cash, according to breaking news app Citizen. NYPD scanner activity indicated that the bag was filled with $600. The suspect then fled on foot.

NYPD apprehended the suspect in the area of Broadway and John Street in Lower Manhattan. He was reportedly trying to board a train at Fulton Station. Video shot at the scene shows a heavy police presence in the area, complete with police dogs. Crowds of pedestrians were lined up to watch the melee. At 4 p.m. Citizen reported that police requested an ambulance for the suspect, who reportedly suffered minor injuries.

The Broadway bank robbery suspect may have been involved in an earlier bank robbery on Canal Street in Manhattan. His identity has not been released.
