It seems as if the O.J. Simpson drama will never come to an end.

The former football star and film actor, who is serving a prison term on armed robbery and kidnapping convictions, will return to court. According to the Christian Science Monitor, Simpson hopes to be granted an appeal, arguing that his lawyer during the 2008 trial had a conflict of interest and gave bad advice.

Patricia Palm will not represent Simpson. She said that claims against Simpson’s former lawyer, John Galanter, “are solid.”

From the Christian Science Monitor: “Simpson now says that Galanter knew ahead of time about Simpson’s plan to retrieve what he thought were personal mementos, and that the lawyer met Simpson in Las Vegas to discuss the plan the night before the athlete and five other men confronted two sports memorabilia dealers and a middleman in a casino hotel room in September 2007.”

Simpson says he sought to retrieve family photos and personal items stolen after his 1996 acquittal in the murder of his wife and her friend.

“He consistently told me the state could not prove its case because I acted within my rights in retaking my own property,” Simpson said in a sworn statement outlining what he plans to say in court this week.
