More than one million are expected in Washington, D.C. for Tuesday's inauguration of Barack Obama.

Obama will be the 44th president of the United States to take the oath of office. The celebrations began a few days ago with a pre-inaugural concert at the Lincoln Memorial. Now, more than one million are expected at the capital for the much anticipated main event. Although far from the festivities, many here in Calgary say they'll be tuning in to watch the historic event.

One man said, "I'd like to find a party, but I think I'll just watch it at home."

"I'm very excited," said another Calgarian, "because he's the first black person to be United States president."

Many are expected at Kilkenny Irish Pub in Brentwood to watch the morning's inauguration play again at 5:30 p.m.
