The Memorial Cup hosts have fallen.

The Rimouski Oceanic lost 6-4 to the Windsor Spitfires on Thursday night in a tiebreaker for a chance to advance to Friday’s semifinal against the Drummondville Voltigeurs.

The Oceanic, who fell in the QMJHL semifinals, lost three of four games on home ice at the Memorial Cup.

The Spitfires entered the Memorial Cup as a favourite and are still alive after losing their first two games.

Friday’s semifinal is at 7 p.m. Eastern. The Kelowna Rockets are waiting for the winner, having already clinched a spot in the championship game on Sunday at 4:30 p.m.
