Step 1: Sit with you back straight and feet flat on the floor. It’s nice to take off your shoes, if you feel comfortable doing so. Close your eyes and take five deep breaths. Focus on long, slow exhales. Sigh out your breath. Move around so you don’t become stiff from sitting. Take another five breaths and feel yourself relaxing more with each exhale. Make sure your jaw is relaxed.
Step 2: Think of something you would like in your life. It’s your desire so don’t include another person. See it as a snapshot or as a movie with you in it. Now say to yourself “I (your name) choose to have this in my life.” Describe it fully, yet silently, to yourself. Go into detail, including how you feel about it. Repeat it a couple times. Then, think of a symbol that describes what you choose to have. Go back to that symbol throughout your day to create what you want in your life.
Do you have sore shoulders, wrists that ache, neck pain, or just general stress? Use these simple weekly yoga postures to help you create a better day. Just a few minutes throughout your workday will make a big difference! As you start each stretch remember to take nice deep breaths and be aware of your body.
As you go through these postures, remember safety come first. You might feel uncomfortable, which is natural, but pain is not OK. It is your body telling you to stop.
