OHL Roundup: A look at Sunday’s games

It was a day Mark Visentin could be happy for himself and his long-time teammate Andrew Agozzino.

Visentin made 15 saves to earn his league-leading seventh shutout of the season as the Niagara IceDogs blanked the host Brampton Battalion 3-0 on Sunday in Ontario Hockey League action.

“Last time we played here, I got lit up pretty good so this is redemption for me in a way,” said Visentin, who recorded his eighth straight victory.

The 19-year-old netminder allowed six goals on 27 shots in a 6-1 defeat in his previous outing against the Battalion.

Agozzino scored a goal and added an assist for the IceDogs (30-15-3), who jumped Brampton for top spot in the Central Division standings, while Brett Ritchie and Steven Shipley had a goal apiece.

Agozzino’s goal was his 30th of the season and 149th all time in a Niagara uniform, setting a new franchise record.

“It was great to see Andrew get the record. He’s such a key part of this team,” Visentin added.

Visentin and Agozzino have spent their entire junior career playing together for the IceDogs.
