The Niagara IceDogs are one of the hottest teams in the Ontario Hockey League thanks to goaltender Mark Visentin.
The IceDogs netminder made 26 saves for his second straight shutout and league-leading sixth of the season as Niagara hammered the Belleville Bulls 6-0 on Thursday night.
The win improved the IceDogs to 29-14-3 and they have now won nine of their past 10 games
Brett Ritchie led the way offensively with a pair of goals, while captain Andrew Agozzino added his team-leading 29th goal of the season. Freddie Hamilton, on the power play, Mitchell Theoret and Trevor Peterson also scored for the IceDogs.
Agozzino’s goal was the 148th of his OHL career tying him with Patrick O’Sullivan for the IceDogs franchise record. The team, formerly known as the Mississauga IceDogs, moved from Mississauga to Niagara for the 2007-2008 season.
Elsewhere in the OHL, it was: Whalers 4, Colts 1; Spirit 5, Spitfires 4 (SO); and Spirit 5, Spitfires 4 (SO).
At St. Catharines, Ont., the IceDogs improved to 29-14-3 with the win and have now won nine of their past 10 games.
Former IceDog John Chartrand turned aside 28 shots in the loss, as Belleville (22-23-1) lost its six straight and ninth of its past 10 overall.
The IceDogs went 1-for-2 on the power play, while the Bulls were 0-for-2.
Whalers 4, Colts 1
At Barrie, Ont., Andy Bathgate had a goal and two assists as the Plymouth Whalers took down the Colts.
Plymouth (32-12-3) extended its division lead over Sarnia to 16 points.
Barrie dropped to 24-19-3.

Spirit 5, Spitfires 4 (SO)
At Windsor, Ont., Vincent Trochek scored twice, including the deciding goal in a shootout as Saginaw defeated the Spitfires.
Trochek notched his team-leading 23rd marker of the season for the Spirit (21-21-5) and also assisted on goals by Brandon Saad and for Eric Locke.
Jaroslav Pavelka made 41 saves for the Spitfires (21-22-5), who are now tied with the Spirit for third place in the OHL’s West Division.

Petes 5, Frontenacs 1
Peterborough, Ont., Alan Quine scored two goals and added two assists as the Petes beat the Kingston Frontenacs.
Lino Martschini also scored two goals for the Petes (22-19-6).
Billy Jenkins had the only goal for Kingston (13-30-4).
