Carole Olsen is staying put with the Halifax Regional School Board.

It was announced last night Olsen has agreed to a new three-year contract to remain as board superintendent, a position she’s held since 2002. The new contract goes into effect July 1 and has been ratified by both the board and the Department of Education.

“It’s an honour and a pleasure to have been asked by the elected board to carry on as superintendent,” Olsen said in a HRSB release.

During her tenure, Olsen has brought in individual student assessments in literacy and math, and the release of annual school reports to the community.
