The Ontario Special Investigations Unit is investigating an arrest and strip search of a woman by Ottawa police officers following a 2008 incident.
The SIU is probing the circumstances surrounding the incident following Justice Richard Lajoie’s ruling, which was released to the public last week.
Ottawa Police Chief Vern White released a statement over the weekend regarding the ruling, which stated, “I want to give you assurances that the Ottawa Police take these comments very seriously and have begun a full review of our procedures, as well as started an investigation into our officers' actions.”
