Opening Ceremony teams up with DKNY

Anyone who spent time in NYC in the ’90s knows the DKNY mural in Soho
was such a pivotal part of the cityscape. The American brand represented
this sense of urban cool(Biggie’s lyrics solidified it). Now, a new
collaboration between hip downtown retailer Opening Ceremony and Donna
Karan International aims to recapture that street cred with a capsule
collection featuring iconic DKNY looks from the era.

“DKNY was a pioneer of streetwear fashion in the ’90s,” Opening Ceremony
cofounder Carol Lim said. “We have been longtime fans of the brand and
were very excited to bring back select, quintessential styles that feel
fresh even today.”

These include a cropped puffer jacket, leggings, a hooded jumpsuit and
of course, the bodysuit— we definitely had a few DKNY versions in our
wardrobe.

The 15-piece collection hits Opening Ceremony boutiques in New York, Los
Angeles, London and Tokyo, as well as www.openingceremony.us on Friday.
But if you’re one of the smart ones, you still have a piece hiding in
the back of your closet.
