Opportunity in role: O’Sullivan

After nearly 30 years as an Ottawa police officer, Sue O’Sullivan started her job as Canada’s new Federal Ombudsman for Victims of Crime, yesterday.

O’Sullivan began with the Ottawa Police Service in 1981 and became the city’s first female deputy chief before taking this post.

In her new role, O’Sullivan said she welcomed the unique opportunity to use her hands-on experience in law enforcement and dealing with crime victims to make a difference for all Canadians.
