Ottawa brothers come out on top in Mitsubishi City Chase

After 36 hours of tough challenges in chilling temperatures, two Kanata-raised brothers won the Mitsubishi City Chase Championship last weekend.

Their secret? “Just not taking it too seriously and enjoy the ride,” said Anthony Woods Thursday.

Representing Team Ottawa, Erik and Anthony Woods were first to cross the finish line in Winnipeg after beating out seven regional teams for the grand prize of two, all-new Mitsubishi Outlanders.

The brothers had to check in at different Chase Points across the city in order to complete their next challenges, including tugging a car themselves for about 2.7 km and eating a nine-pound hamburger.

“Eating the burger was almost impossible, and pretty gross,” said Anthony, who works as a consultant.

“I do this partly to be with my brother because he’s in a different city,” said Erik. “It gives me a reason to do something with him every year – it’s a good bonding experience.”
