Ottawa looking for business help

The Ottawa Chamber of Commerce is calling for an initiative to provide small business loan funds for businesses suffering under the current global credit crunch.

In addition, the chamber is asking the province to eliminate the capital tax on companies and harmonize the sales tax when it releases the provincial budget tomorrow.

“This will be the most important budget that Ontario has seen in a decade,” said OCC executive director Erin Kelly.

“It’s very important that we see initiatives that will trickle down quickly to small businesses. The small business loan fund and infrastructure spending are just two ways to ensure this. We’re ready to work with all levels of government to make sure this money trickles down quickly.”
