MONTREAL — An Ottawa man has wheeled and dealed his way around the game board to become Canada’s newest Monopoly champion.
Will Lusby outlasted 47 other finalists in three days of intense dice rolling and deal making to win the title at the Montreal Science Centre Saturday.

Lusby credits his philosophy of trading as being critical to his success.
The title earns Lusby $15,000 and he will represent Canada at the 13th Monopoly World Championship in Las Vegas in October 2009.
The first Monopoly World Championship took place in Washington D.C., in 1973, and Antonio Fernandez of Spain won the last event in 2004 in Tokyo.
Lusby says becoming Canadian champion is an “incredible honour.”
“I’m thrilled to represent Canada at the Monopoly World Championship and will do everything I can to bring the title home, where it belongs,” Lusby said.
