A 72-year-old woman was run over by her own car as she tried to stop it from rolling into the street Friday.
The Ottawa Paramedic Service says the woman was pushing against the bumper in an effort to keep it in her driveway. She was dragged onto Maple Lane and pinned underneath.

A release from the paramedic service says university students who live across the street and an OC Transpo bus driver came to the woman’s aid.
Together the group pushed the car off the woman and began to provide first aid until paramedics arrived.
Emergency workers found the woman lying in the middle of the road with significant trauma including a foot fracture, trauma to the right knee and a head injury.
The patient was listed in stable condition on arrival at hospital.
