Rocker Lenny Kravitz supported Madonna throughout her campaign to adopt another child — even lending the pop superstar his mansion in France while she dealt with the legal issues, femalefirst.co.uk reports.

The Material Girl began proceedings to adopt four-year-old Mercy James from Malawi in April, but the country’s courts rejected her first attempt to adopt. The singer launched an appeal and eventually won the right to become the youngster’s legal guardian earlier this month.

Her pal Kravitz says he stepped in to help the star during her ordeal as she fought to make Mercy a member of her family — and said, “It has been tough for Madonna. But she’s doing good. She’s been staying in France while it was going on. I’m glad it’s worked out.”
