Pam Grier celebrates at Cin Cin

Former WKRP In Cincinnati alumnus Howard Hesseman was spotted dining at Cin Cin Ristorante & Bar last weekend, one of several celebrities to grace Robson Street’s venerated Italian eatery. Also dining at Cin Cin were Warren Christie (The L Word) with his girlfriend, and ’70s pulp star Pam Grier (Jackie Brown), who celebrated her 58th birthday with a friend. Grier also plays the recurring role of Kit Porter on the Vancouver-shot series, The L Word.

SEXY BEASTS:
Penelope Cruz and Ben Kingsley were at Sanafir restaurant last Wednesday night filming a scene for the feature, Elegy, in one of the downstairs booths. Later, they moved out front of the restaurant and apparently caused quite a stir, particularly given the stunning backless black dress that Cruz was sporting. The Lakeshore Entertainment film is based on Philip Roth’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novella Dying Animal, about the complicated relationship between a teacher (Kingsley) and his student (Cruz).

SMALLVILLE, SUPERNATURAL OFFICIALLY RENEWED: The CW network has officially picked up both of its Vancouver-shot series, Smallville and Supernatural, though both shows will apparently be given different U.S. time-slots next year. And while it appeared as though Kristin Kreuk’s Smallville character of Lana Lang might have met an untimely demise at the end of this past season, we’re told that Lana will definitely return for Season 7. Unfortunately, it is Annette O’Toole — who played Martha Kent — who has left the series; the Season Six episode, Phantom, was her last.
